Chuck Rogers

Stephen Cobert has provided the following information about this early work by Keith Giffen

In the summer of 1974, Montclair (New Jersey) State College published a copy of its art/humor magazine titled National Galumph. (The magazine was done in the style of the then-popular humor magazine, the National Lampoon.) Early in the magazine was a 14-page b&w comic titled Chuck Rogers Comics (Featuring the Original Legion of Super Assassins). The final page of this comic offering identified one "Keith Giffen" as the penciller for this work.

I contacted Giffen's art dealer and he confirmed that the Keith Giffen who worked on that magazine was in fact the same Keith Giffen who went on to be such a name in the comic book industry. (Keith did not in fact attend Montclair State, but did the work as a favor for a friend who did attend.)

Steve has has scans of the comic online:

An early draft of the cover, found on the Editorial page of the magazine. Notable mainly because, if used, it would have given cover credit to Giffen's contribution.
