Man-Thing Comiquette, Polystone
Statue
Perhaps the most expensive Man-Thing item around, if you don't
count the money Marvel wasted spent on the film,
is this US $499.99 bust from
Sideshow Collectibles that appears to have been announced in
April 2009 but none of us Muck-Heads noticed at the time: The
latest to join Sideshow's line of Marvel collectibles is the
monstrous Man-Thing Comiquette. Each piece is individually
painted and hand-finished, each with its own unique quality and
detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow C
ollectibles Comiquette. Complete with LED light-up eyes and
towering over 18 inches high, the Man-Thing Comiquette captures
the intimidating presence of the mutant guardian in incredible
detail, the perfect addition to any Marvel display.

Recent visitor George brought to my attantion a 4 Inch rubber figure made by TSR that looks very much like Man-Thing. His research unearth that it is the Dungeons & Dragons figure called Shambling Mound, #36 of the 80 figures produced in the Harbringer series. © TSR Hobbies Inc 1982.
Details for players..
Ecology: Shambling mounds dwell in thickly over grown swamps or in exceedingly wet and fetid subterranean locals. Mounds will feed on anything organic, including other plants and animals, as well as the living and the dead. Other questions, such as how they breed and how long they live, is unknown. Some believe that shambling mounds are enraged manifestations of the swamps in which they dwell. Others say that are elemental spirits gone wrong.
Appearance: A shambling mound is a tall heap of rotting vegetation. It smells rank and water runs freely from the shambling mound's body. The creature also drips slime and liquid mud as it walks.
The Shambling Mound first appeared in the official newsletter of TSR Games, The Strategic Review #3, August 1975, then turnned up in the first edition Monster Manual (1977)
My thanks to George for the photograph, and Chris Norton for pointing out the Monstor Manual appearance.

from Haunt Hunters.
A Man-Thing figure

Eagle-eyed
Muck-Head Guillaume spotted this creature in a
screen-shot from the game Fable II. It could be mistaken for
Man-Thing if you met it in a dark swamp.
According to Wikipedia,
Fable II is an upcoming role playing video game for Xbox 360, developed by Lionhead Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It is a sequel to Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters.
Announced in 2006, the game will take place in Albion, 500 years after Fable's setting, in a colonial era resembling the time of highwaymen or the Enlightenment; guns are still primitive, and large castles and cities have developed in the place of towns.
