I Visit Toronto

I had a great time on my trip to the US and Toronto during September/October 1999. My attempts to contact the sock in question by e-mail to say hello got no response at all from the offical address, guess he gets enough local stalkers without encouraging a foreign one.

While I was in Toronto MuchMusic hosted their Video Awards so I made my travelling companion join me standing outside the Chum building waiting for famous people to turn up. We got to see Alice Cooper (the guy looks like a corpse), David Bowie (the guy looks like a teenager), Gerri Heliwell (the guys looked down her cleavage) and a whole lot of bands I'd never heard of, but who the teenage girls loved to scream at. I had a great time looking around and even managed to see Ed in the thread, so to speak. He was one of the MC's and was up in a cherry-picker with his support staff doing some intro's. My attempts to get an Ed the Sock T-shirt were to no avail, the sales staff in the ground floor of City TV said they didn't have anything at the moment. They were hoping to get some tacky Ed the Sock souvenirs some time soon. I settled for a MuchMusic mouse pad instead.
