Bubbles, I hate them. I think it has something to do with my childhood and my Mum's refusal to buy me a bubble fountain. Obviously the soldiers we encounter in this comic had similar childhoods because they spend the whole 44 pages of this book attacking a stream of bubbles with swords, machine guns, bazookas and anything else they can get from stores. That's the sum total of the story, though as things progress we do get to see who is actually making the bubbles and follow the particular misadventures of one of the soldiers.

The important part of this comic is the impressive artwork. The layouts and detailed illustration on display are of a high standard in a style that is uniquely theirs. With fine line work, lots of close ups and action aplenty to please even the pickiest reader. While their hard work doesn't have a storyline to do it justice, the basic idea is so odd that it manages to keep the readers attention all the way through, and it's only at the end that you'll ask Is that it?

Update: Check out some samples of Kevin and George's recent work here.

In a Word: Popular.
