In which Detective Jack works off his anger on criminals, his boss gets cranky when the M.A.S.H. Commemorative plate on his desk gets smashed, and a prostitute's day turns from sad to bad.

Jeff draws this comic in a detailed style, with loads of fine line work to give the backgrounds a bit of zig, displaying a slight Manga influence with lots of parallel lines used to add emphasis to action sequences. The graphics deal well with a large anthropomorphic cast of characters which never look too cute or cuddly.

Plot wise this issue is a bit pedestrian in its pacing, with the goings on being peripheral to our lead character. The cast of characters is perhaps a bit large to swap between all the different storylines progressing at the moment. A re-read of issue one is needed to set things in order.

If the story nearly looses you, the dialogue will steer you back into the book, with some great one liners and banter being thrown around: You're a detective, you puke!!..You think I pay you to cuddle? You're not that good looking! and a few more besides. I had some good laughs while reading this and the visuals can be just as humorous. A snapshot of Jack from his younger days that quotes the "Sid and Nancy get arrested" photographs is one of many nice touches Jeff drops into the proceedings.

One of the few furry animal comics that doesn't make creep me out, this book entertains on a variety of levels from cleaver to silly. Well worth the cover price, so buy it soon, you puke!

In a Word: Developing.
