Teenage angst is a common theme in just about every media you care to think of so it is no surprise that comics function as regular outlet for this sort of thing (hey, I've been known to draw the occasional example myself). Kieran presents here a story that has been floating around in the back of his mind for about eleven years. He has tried to arrange the events of his year eight at high school (age 14) into a unified whole, trying to make sense of the parties, bullies, girls, and thoughts of a homosexual nature that made up an important time in his life.

Kieran artwork is lovely to look at, producing a nicely put together group of vignettes showing the different events and thoughts from that period. It doesn't really take you anywhere apart from the mind of Kieran, there are no dramatic events or shocking plot twists, but it is thought provoking.

In a Word: Contemplative.
