Trespasses (1984)
Aka Omen of Evil, aka Intrusos, working title Finding Katie.
When "Mortimer’s Patch" became a critical and popular success Television New Zealand stopped making it. In 1982 Tom Finlayson, who produced the programme and left TVNZ when it was axed, managed to raise $2 million to make a movie using the same principal characters, actors, and writers. It was orginally known as “Finding Katy," and began shooting in Auckland on January 7 1983.
Patrick McGoohan the star of “Danger Man,” one of TV’s first spy series, starred and the female lead was played by Emma Piper, a London stage actress who had just completed her first TV series for the BBC.
TVNZ was also involved; The production used some TVNZ equipment and it had the TV rights for New Zealand. There was no suggestion at the time that the TV series would be revived.
