GAGLINE PRESS is actively seeking submissions for a new comic book project.

The projected comic book is a 36-page humor anthology to be published bi-monthly. We are looking for funny, original, well-rendered material drawn in a one-page to four-page story format. We are interested in reviewing most any genre, from traditional to experimental to underground to anthropomorphic and everything in between. This isn't a project that will be marketed to children, and we are open to considering adult-oriented material, but not pornography. Make us laugh.

The book will be published in black and white (color cover), with a projected shipping date of November 2002. Submissions should be in standard comic book format 10" x 15" originals that can be shot and reduced for publication. We cannot consider panel gags or pinups. We can only review projects complete in concept and execution. We do not "match-up" artists and writers. We do not accept submissions based on material copyrighted by a third party (i.e., please don't submit ARCHIE, DISNEY, OMAHA THE CAT DANCER or LOVE & ROCKETS pages it sounds obvious, but we've been stunned on more than one occasion). Please submit completed pages pencils, inks, and lettering. Submit photocopies DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL ARTWORK and please put your name and contact information on the back of EACH REPRODUCTION. If we're interested in your project, we'll ask for the original art at the appropriate time. ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE REVIEWED, so please don't email us your project. likewise, we cannot review your submission at your website.

We must receive submissions for the first issue of the anthology no later than July 1, 2002. Contributors to the first issue will be given priority consideration for inclusion in successive issues.

We'll respond to your submission in four-to-six weeks from the day we receive it, but submissions without a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope will be trashed.
