It seems a bunch of old guys in robes who call themselves The Overlords have been messing with time, altering history and creating a whole lot of alternative timelines in the process. This is causing chaos, and the only being capable of fixing this mess is Jake the marsupial. Seems he is the only intelligent animal in the whole of existence and somehow he appears in every parallel timeline.

Quickly getting the reader right into the heart of the matter with bad-guys trying to kill Jake and a Stickman super hero trying to protect him, It's an amusing idea that seems a bit cramped into the one issue. The idea itself is simple and things like this crop up a lot in time travel stories. Jake has an interesting naive understanding of events around him at the start of the book but soon seems swept up in the momentum of the plot.

Joe illustrates the action in a fun style. The villains are wacky, the heroes quite restrained, and the settings detailed in a cartoony way. The way that the stick figure super-hero is drawn remind me of Lethargic Lad.

The action is quick and frantic which means the characters don't really make much of an impression aside from their appearance. The comedy is low key so their are lots of grins but not that many laugh out loud moments. The story would make a great kid's cartoon series, but didn't really engross this adult.

In a Word: Slim.
