Based on a true story, Tangiwai, A Love Story is a tale of tragedy, heroism and love. It's 1953, and Bob Blair and fiance Nerissa Love are deeply in love. While Bob goes off to play cricket for his country in South Africa, Nerissa makes a fateful decision to travel to Auckland for Christmas on a train heading for a place better known as Tangiwai – River of Tears'.
