The Other Brian Edwards Show

Around the same time as the TV show the Wellington based One in Five review written by Roger Hall and featuring John Clarke morphed in to the The Brian Edwards Travelling road show A recording of this incarnation was released under the title The Brian Edwards Show which may or may not reflect the tone of the TV show in question here.

The Brian Edwards Show Brian Edwards has become something of a national figure in New Zealand. This album may not give you the very familiar figure we all know. His outspoken, quick wit remains, but it is added to an all imposing cast of people living on the lunatic fringe, knowing in their hearts that one in five New Zealanders are mad.

This album may shock, dismay and if you have the ability to laugh at yourself, you should find yourself rolling in the aisles, or wherever you care to roll Together for or the first time on record is a cast of satirists, who combine so well they could only be perhaps the cleverest bunch ever assembled.

They are Roger Hall, Dave Smith, Cathy Downe, and Helene Wong

The show was first performed as "One In Five" and enjoyed immense success in Wellington. It was re-shaped for recording and was recorded at the Wellington Town Hall and H.M.V. Studios. The comedy sketches were written by Roger Hall, Dave Smith and John Clarke

Brian Edward's material was written by Brian Edwards, Ian Fraser, David Beatson, and Roger Hall.
