Ray Columbus got his own show starting Wednesday, November 11 1970 at 7.30 p.m. on all channels. A variety programme with the accent on comedy, it also had pop guests.

It was produced by John Barningham, the resident group was The Population — five girls and five guys “who sing very well. dance very well, and look very well.” Guests included Craig’ Scott, Suzanne, and an all-girl pop group, the Fair Sect. Interspersed with established artists were newcomers to national television.
