Choreographed by Mary Jane O'Reilly to a score by Jonathan Besser, this ballet celebrates the life of pioneering aviatrix Jean Batten. Jean was commissioned by the Royal New Zealand Ballet to mark New Zealand's Sesquicentennial in 1990. It may be that the ballet was screened on TV, or this might have been a documentary about the production.
