A planned one-hour ballet production that my have be broadcast as part of an arts show.- The first TV version of Sleeping Beauty made in Australia or New Zealand was to be Bryan Ashbridxe's major job before had a year's leave of absence. Bryan had been appointed assistant artistic director of the Australian Ballet Company, Peggy Van Praagh being his chief in the job. Bryan decided not to cut his ties with the NZBC, but was to make up his mind whether or not to return after he has worked in Australia for a year. For Sleeping Beauty he was lined up to use the whole of the New Zealand Ballet Company plus additional dancers, and the music was be provided by the NZBC Symphony under Juan liatteucci.
