In November 1999, Dr Colin Bouwer, the Head of Psychiatry at Otago Hospital, put a murderous plan into action. Over three months he poisoned his wife Annette with prescription medication, causing her slow and painful death.
It was going to be the perfect crime, until Andrew Bowers, a young consultant physician stumbled upon the murder in process.
Putting his career and reputation on the line, Bowers doggedly pursued the truth and refused to back down. It was only his and Detective Brett Roberts search for the truth that eventually uncovered Annette Bouwer’s cold-blooded murder.
