Series for children - adapted from Margaret Mahy's bestseller - set in a post-technological future following the "Great Chaos" and following a convoy of circus caravans who set out on their annual tour, this time also seeking a lost solar converter for the city of Solis. Crossing a depopulated and partly-unmapped countryside they come across various tribes, gangs and agents from the future - some hostile, others friendly.
