Each programme consisted of one story with an attractive kaleidoscope opening
. The first five programmes, with frontman Merv Smith, were picture book stories of animal characters.
Programmes six to 10 were locally written and illustrated stories of a small girl and her friend, a small Maori boy. Barbara Adams fronted this section. The final five programmes, fronted by Alma Johnson, were picture book adventure stories.
