Bandy is an old ex-sailor working on a farm and telling countless stories of his wild youth to the farmer's young nephew. But when a 13-year-old orphan girl arrives to help around the house, Bandy and the girl form a relationship which confuses the boy and disturbs his uncle and aunt.
