In the final episode of the second series of Mortimer's Patch Det Sgt Doug Mortimer has to battle with his own superior as well as a notorious prison escaper is sighted near Cobham. The ambitious and ruthless Det Ins Christ Knight - who was once Mortimer's junior - suspects him and forces him to reconsider his future in the service. Also starring in this episode are award winning Australian Peter Cummins, seen in the film Storm Boy and Auckland actress Lee Grant, on leave from the Mercury Theatre. It has not been yet been decided whether a third series will be made.
